I received the following from Ted Wiedeman today:

Dan Bolen just called and he said that he will be out of town on November 3 and that he would prefer to be here to make sure everything went well. He said that either the Saturday before or after would be OK. I suggested the 10th which he put down.

We are now scheduled to set up on Nov 10th after 9:00 AM and the open house will be the evening of Nov 14.

An updated (as of today) membership roster can be downloaded from the Membership page.

Plans for the show at the Prairie Village Bank have almost been finalized. It was decided that it would be best if we all tried to drop off models around the same time. I am still waiting for confirmation of the final date for set up and for the show. Please let Paul Gagne know what ships you decide to enter as he is making up placards.

The two books that Tom Rose recommended are:

Hms Beagle: The Story of Darwin’s Ship

Over the Edge of the World: Magellan’s Terrifying Circumnavigation of the Globe

The book and plan set that I brought is

The Ships of Abel Tasman

The book comes with 40 sheets of plans to build the the two ships that Tasman had on his journey, in addition, complete sets of the plans at various different scales come on an included cd-rom.

The current membership roster is now available for download on the Membership page

The next meeting is November 11, 2007 at Robert Irving’s house in Lawrence.
