At the last meeting Jerry Connell gave me a few disks with some logos for the KC Square Riggers that had been developed a few years ago, other members expressed some interest in having copies of these also. Unfortunately one of disks was/is corrupt and I have been unable to retrieve anything from it. The logo I did find is below:

To save a copy of this to your computer, just right click the image and choose “save image as…”

A larger version of the logo is available here, but a little bit of the left side of the image is cut off.

I also have a number of MS Publisher and Avery format files that were on the disks, let me know privately if you would like copies of those too.

Received the following from Ted Wiedeman:

I talked to Dan Bolen about the planned showing of the ship models by the KC Square Riggers. He said that they have set Nov 14 as the date. This is a change from the Sept date that was discussed at our meeting last Sunday.”

The July meeting was a great success, many thanks to John Zaiger our host. :-)

The natural based finish that John Curry demo’d is from:

The tool that John also demonstrated for putting in the keel rabbet is a gun stock checkering tool, look here for more info.

This is, I believe the ship that Larry Todd brought to the meeting to be “renovated”, the Royal William, by Euromodel:

It is in 1:70 scale (not 1:48) and the rake of the bowsprit doesn’t look quite so severe, but it is still quite steep.

Here’s a link to the Model Expo page about it:

The plans for the HMS Triton cross section that I brought to the meeting are free and are available to download at the Model Ship World website, you’ll need to register and then ask in the H.M.S. Triton, 28 gun frigate (Cross Section) forum for access to them.

Please let me know if there is anything you would like me to do (or you’d like to do to with the website).

I’ll try to get the logo up just as soon as I find a floppy drive to look at the discs.

The next meeting is September 9, 2007 at Jerry Connell’s place – rumor has it that he’s pulling out all the stops; dancing girls, roast pig luau style, and Paris Hilton serving up ship modeling tips. ;-)
